In-Home Support Aide

We are currently hiring for an In-Home Support Aide at KCC to work with children and their parents/guardians..  The position is located in Lethbridge, Alberta but the applicant must be willing to drive up to one hour out of town with their own personal vehicle.  Travel is paid hourly and per kilometer.  An ideal applicant is required to have evening availability for our afterschool clients.  We offer competitive wages and benefits packages for eligible employees. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and organized person to join our Aide team.  Duties will include, but not be limited to, building rapport with clients/families, in-home sessions, tracking data, entering hours on database, implementing goals set out by clinical team, attending informative monthly aide meetings, liaisoning with clinicians and seeking collaboration as required.  KCC offers a strong level of support and training to ensure that candidates will feel successful and confident in this position. 

Additional requirements include:

  • Criminal Record Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment

  • Child Intervention Check from Southwest Alberta Child and Family Services

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal vehicle

  • Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum and/or developmental disabilities is an asset, but not required.

  • Supporting Individuals with Valued Attachments (SIVA) training is an asset, but not required.

  • Up to date First Aide Certificate is an asset, but not required.

Speech-Language Pathologist 0.8 FTE Temporary

 

We are currently looking for a temporary Speech-Language Pathologist. The position is a temporary 0.8 FTE with the possibility of increased time. The position is located in Lethbridge, AB and is available immediately.

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and organized person to join our flexible and fast paced team.

  • The individual must be comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be expected to participate in assessment, planning, and implementation of intervention programs.

  • Consultation and supervision of in-home support aides and educational assistants is also an expectation.

  • Experience working with individuals who have Developmental Disabilities, understanding of varied socio-economic factors, and competency supporting multi-cultural needs is an asset.

  • Training in the Hanen "Learning Language and Loving It" program would be beneficial.

  • Out of town travel is a requirement and employees are compensated for travel costs.

Additional requirements include:

 Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

The successful applicant must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Counsellor / Behaviour Consultant 0.5 FTE Temporary

(0.5 FTE moving to full time early 2018)

  • We are looking for a diverse, enthusiastic and innovative professional with the ability to multi-task and manage a flexible schedule.

  • The individual must be comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for participating in assessment, planning and implementation of intervention programs.

  • The successful candidate will provide counselling services to individuals and families, as well as consulting and providing supervision to in-home support aides.

  • Experience working with individuals who have Developmental Disabilities, understanding of varied socio-economic factors, and competency supporting multi-cultural needs is an asset.

  • Out of town travel is a requirement and employees are compensated for travel costs.

     

Additional requirements include:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work; Provisional Psychologist; Psychologist or related Master Level Degree

  • May consider candidates with a Bachelor degree in a related field, or Master Degree in Educational Psychology, who have significant related experience

  • Licensed or Registered Health Care Provider under the Health Professions Act

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

  • Criminal Record and CYIM check are required
