Participants will be provided with an overview of anxiety—causes, functions, and symptoms. Participants will also be provided with concrete strategies they can start to integrate into their own lives and/or professional practice to promote the adaptive management of anxiety. The intent is to provide an understanding of the physiological and neurological underpinnings of anxiety as well as proactive, skill building interventions to assist in the transformation of problem anxiety to more adaptive, helpful anxiety. The emphasis throughout the presentation will be exploring anxiety through a parent-child lens.

The presenter (Bethany Mills) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a passion for providing best practice, research based behavioural and counselling support to Lethbridge and area. Bethany operates from a strengths focused, developmental attachment based framework in her work with children, adults, and families who are looking for support in a range of areas including: self-regulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, social, emotional, and behavioural skill development.

This Workshop is presented by Bethany Mills, B.A., M.C., Registered Provisional Psychologist.
